The ZDT is a non-profit organization solely reliant on external funding. In order to continue its pro-democracy advocacy the ZDT is actively seeking funds from foundations, corporations, individuals and democratic governments.
The challenges facing the ZDT in the short to medium term are immense. Not only will it continue to work with the international community towards overcoming the political and humanitarian crises in Zimbabwe, it also intends to advocate tirelessly for extensive international support and engagement in the country’s reconstruction once a transitional government is in place and the rule of law is restored. When these objectives have been met, the ZDT intends to scale down its international operations in order to focus internally on reestablishing and safeguarding the mechanisms of a democratic society in Zimbabwe.
